QUINCY, MA Quincy police found a shooting victim inside a car Friday night following an incident that took place at approximately 6:47 p.m. on Ferndale Street in Dorchester, said Boston police in a news release.
The victim has been identified as Akeem Polimis, 17, of Dorchester, said police. Polimis was found with apparent gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.
Juan Nazario, 18, of Dorchester was arrested Saturday morning at approximately 11:30 a.m. in connection with the shooting and is facing charges of murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition, said police.
Officers found 17-year-old Akeem Polimis of Dorchester suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside the vehicle in Quincy. He was pronounced dead on scene.
Officials did not immediately provide any information on the victim s condition, and there was no update Saturday morning.
Boston police detectives processed the scene in Quincy Friday night. A Boston police crime scene response truck was parked out front of the Meriel at Marina Bay Quincy apartment complex, while a number of people were seen standing inside a parking garage for Meriel residents. At least one crime scene response member was seen walking out of the parking garage.
Boston police say the initial incident began on Ferndale Street in Boston s Dorchester neighborhood.
Police have not provided any details on a possible suspect.
