Plan launched to help residents after East West Rail worries

A plan has been launched to help residents in the north of the county deal with the disruption that has been caused by the current East West Rail works. The ongoing development aims to deliver passengers from Oxford (Oxfordshire) to Great Yarmouth (Norfolk), with the line expecting to go through Buckinghamshire. Areas within the county such as Milton Keynes, Woburn Sands, Bow Brickhill, Fenny Stratford, Bletchley, Winslow, and Aylesbury will have the train going through its railway stations, as part of the new line. Aylesbury Train Station is part of the new EWR (pictured in July 2018) However, the multi-million-pound project has caused several locations to complain regarding the works.

Milton Keynes residents age 60-plus urged to get COVID-19 vaccine

In the latest stage of the vaccination programme, the NHS is now inviting all those aged 60 or over to get a life-saving COVID-19 vaccination. This week, around two million people between the ages of 60 and 63 will be invited to book an appointment and receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.  Across England, there have now been 16.5 million people who have received their first jab - just over a third of the whole adult population.  Praising the ongoing vaccination programme, Professor Stephen Powis, the NHS’s national medical director, said: “The NHS vaccination programme, the biggest in the health service’s history and fastest in Europe, goes from strength to strength.
