PHUKET: The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) is moving to have two former Phuket Public Prosecutors charged for corruption for allegedly demanding money from a defendant in order to drop charges of encroaching on state land.

One of the two prosecutors was the Chief of the Phuket Public Prosecutor’s office at the time.
NACC spokesman Niwatchai Kasemmongkol announced the news following a meeting at the NACC headquarters in Bangkok on Monday (Dec 21).

Speaking to the press at Parliament House in Bangkok this morning (Dec 18), Mr Sira said, “Now that the Supreme Administrative Court has upheld the decision to revoke the title deed for the condo project, officers – and especially the Karon Mayor – should be investigated for issuing unlawful documents,” reported state news agency TNA.
