Members of the public can visit its booking site to reserve a spot at Buhr Park, Fuller Park and Veterans Memorial Park pools. Times are available from morning through the evening, and each pool has its own operating hours. Individuals must pay in advance to reserve a spot, which helps pool staff ensure a safe experience with proper social distancing protocols in place.

With the annual celebration coming up June 19, Taylor said he’s working on a resolution with other City Council members to recognize the third Saturday in June as Juneteenth and make it a permanent municipal holiday in Ann Arbor. “Juneteenth is a day of remembrance, and resolve,” he said in a statement. “A day to celebrate emancipation and to honor the strength, endurance and dignity of the African Americans subjected to the atrocity of American slavery.”
