Assistant coroner John Broadbridge told Northallerton Coroners Court, a post mortem had revealed that the illegal drug was the medical cause of Joshua Reeson’s death. Joshua, from New Earswick, died in York Hospital on September 27. He had been taken there after he became ill in Fulford shortly before 4am that day. The inquest was adjourned until a date to be arranged. Following his death, North Yorkshire Police arrested six people. Two 14-year-old boys, were released under investigation. The other four, a 15-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy, a 33-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man were released on bail.

Which? reveals cheapest supermarkets Lidl has narrowly beaten Aldi to be named the cheapest supermarket of 2020, according to Which? analysis. The consumer group tracked the price of 45 popular products such as Hovis bread, Knorr stock cubes and free-range eggs in eight major supermarkets for at least 100 days between January and December 2020. It calculated the average price of each item over the year and the total average cost of all 45 items in the “trolley” – taking the weight and quality of items into account. Which? said this is the first time it has included Lidl, which has a stores in James Street and Thanet Road in Acomb, and Aldi with stores in Fulford Road and Water Lane in its annual study – which now includes own-label items as well as branded ones.

Millennium Bridge under construction On opening day, residents from the Fulford Road and Fishergate area met up on the crossing with their counterparts from the South Bank and Bishopthorpe Road district. And children from Fishergate Primary School and Knavesmire Primary School waved flags and exchanged big greetings cards to celebrate a new and growing link between the schools.
The coronavirus rate has risen so high in Woodthorpe and Acomb Park that it is shaded deep purple in this Public Health England map THE coronavirus rate has soared so high in a York suburb that it is now in the highest possible category in a Public Health England map. PHE says the rolling seven-day infection rate in the week to December 29 in Woodthorpe and Acomb West was 1,081.1 per 100,000 population after 101 cases were confirmed. This means the area is shaded deep purple because the rate is above 800, and is comparable with levels seen in parts of London and is significantly higher than in any other area of York.
