The 2021 emergence of the 17-year periodical cicadas in Brood X has begun in Tennessee and North Carolina.
It’s only a matter of time before they begin crawling from their underground burrows closer to the Lehigh Valley.
Everett
K. Joseph âJoeâ Triplett, 89, of Upper Snake Spring Road, Everett, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021, at Homewood at Martinsburg.
He was born on Feb. 24, 1932, in Bedford, a son of the late Harper B. and Orpha L. (Wareham) Triplett. On June 28, 1953, he was united in marriage to Janet A. (Grimes) Triplett.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Kenneth A. Triplett, in 1932.
Joe is survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Richard, Robert, James, Greg, who was looked at as a brother, Betty, Charlotte, Nancy, Beverly and Janie.
He was a member of the Everett Church of the Brethren and attended the Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren.

James B. Whisker Sr. and Kevin R. Spiker have had their book “The Just War Doctrine in Catholic Thought” published by Nova Science Publishers, an academic publisher of books, encyclopedias, handbooks, e-books and journals, based in Hauppauge, N.Y.
Now a resident of Everett, Bedford County, Whisker’s family has lived in Bedford County through nine generations. Whisker is author or co-author of 81 books as well as numerous articles. Whisker is professor emeritus from West Virginia University. He is a graduate of Bedford High School, Mount St. Mary’s College, Niagara University and the University of Maryland where he received his Ph.D in 1969.
