Los nueve gobiernos regionales que forman parte de la Amazonía brasileña lanzaron este viernes una estrategia para combatir la deforestación de la mayor selva tropical del planeta en la que actuarán directamente, como una coalición para obtener recursos, sin depender del Gobierno de Jair Bolsonaro. La meta del Consorcio Amazonía Legal es conseguir 1.500 millones de reales (unos 300 millones de dólares) para financiar proyectos sostenibles y reforzar la lucha contra la devastación de la vegetación nativa en la región amazónica del país. Se trata de una acción independiente del Gobierno de Bolsonaro, cuyas políticas medioambientales han espantado los apoyos extranjeros para el cuidado de la selva.
