San Miguel Corp. big boss Ramon S. Ang sweetened the pot for Filipino athletes who will win medals at the Tokyo Olympics by pledging additional cash incentives.
Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Bambol Tolentino disclosed Tuesday that the avid sportsman is offering P10 million for every gold medal, P5 million for silver and P2 million for bronze as an added boost for the 19 PH athletes seeing action in the Games slated July 23.
The development brings the total cash incentives of P30 million for every gold medal, P15 million for silver and P6 million for bronze.

The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) has earmarked around P15 million for the upcoming training of the Tokyo Olympics hopefuls in boxing, taekwondo and karate under a bubble setup at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna.
“Well, I think a little over 15 million ang na-allocate namin for that. May savings naman tayong nakita,” said PSC commissioner Ramon Fernandez during the PSC Hour program of Radyo Pilipinas on Friday.
“Pasalamat din tayo sa PAGCOR (Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation) na medyo tumaas ‘yung last assistance from the NSDF (National Sports Development Fund). Malaking tulong,” added Fernandez, who is overseeing the preparations for the training bubble.

Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman William Ramirez revealed he was hopeful the country could earn two gold medals at next year s Olympic Games in Tokyo.
