A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the shooting death of a Frisco High School student, police said Sunday.
Chineye Jones, a Frisco 17-year-old, was fatally shot around 7:25 p.m. Friday night. A man was also hurt in the shooting; he was taken to a local hospital for treatment by first responders. He was still hospitalized Sunday, according to officials. Frisco ISD and Frisco High School are heartbroken by the loss of one of our students, a district spokesperson told WFAA. The District will have grief counselors on hand starting [Monday] to support students and staff during this difficult time.

FRISCO, Texas - Frisco police took one person into custody for a shooting Friday night that resulted in the death of one person and injured another.
The shooting happened just before 7:30 p.m., at the Stewart Creek Apartment on Stonebrook, near Frisco High School, just east of the Dallas North Tollway.
Responding officers found two victims, who have not yet been identified. One was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken to a local hospital. Their condition was not released.
Police said one suspect was taken into custody. The suspect’s name has not been released.
