John Cena has praised his Fast & Furious 9 co-star Finn Cole for his performance as the younger version of Jakob Toretto. The new movie delves into the backstory of Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) to explain why he s never spoken of Jakob before, with a series of flashbacks that feature Cole as Jakob and Vinnie Bennett as the younger version of Dom. Cena told Digital Spy that he met with Cole during filming, despite some slight reservations as he wanted to make sure audiences saw a difference between the younger version of Jakob and the one we meet in F9. A character has to have an arc, they have to have a journey. We could take this out of entertainment and we can talk human to human. If I m the same human being as last year, something s wrong.
