Man wanted in connection with Fitchburg shots fired incident

FITCHBURG, Wis. Officials are searching for a man wanted in connection with a shots fired incident in Fitchburg from October.
According to a news release, a man with a gun was seen firing multiple rounds at a speeding car on the 2300 block of Post Road. Detectives later identified a suspect believed to be connected to the crime and developed probable cause for his arrest.
Fitchburg police said Juwan J. Wilson, 23, is wanted for first-degree recklessly endangering safety. He is on extended supervision through the state Department of Corrections for a separate case and is wanted for violating the terms of his supervision.

PHILLIPSTON After receiving his master’s degree in criminal justice from Anna Maria College in Paxton, Thom Daoust went to work with the Fitchburg Police Department. After 26 years the last five of which he headed up the department’s detective bureau and narcotics unit he retired from the force in 2019 following open heart surgery.
He is currently just two classes shy of earning a master’s degree in public administration.
A resident of Phillipston for the past 10 years, Daoust, 53, has now decided to seek a seat on the town’s Selectboard. He is one of two candidates running to fill a vacancy on the board created by the resignation of Kim Pratt. His challenger in the Feb. 25 special election is current Planning Board Chair Bernie Malouin.
Fitchburg police are investigating after receiving at least two calls Saturday from local mental health providers reporting they had suspicious phone calls from someone who identified themselves as a member of the Fitchburg Police Department.

MADISON, Wis. Officers with the Fitchburg Police Department responded Friday evening to an armed robbery at the Dollar Tree Store near Fish Hatchery Road.
According to police, the suspect attempted to rob the store while armed with a handgun. The suspect was unable to get any money and left the store.
The suspect is described as a Black male in his 40s. He is believed to be 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and approximately 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark colored jeans, a white bandana for a face mask and black gloves.
