FARGO An employee was taken to the hospital for possible smoke inhalation injuries after a fire in a sunflower roasting oven at the Red River Commodities plant in northwest Fargo on Friday night, July 23.
Battalion Chief Joe Mangin said when firefighters from the Fargo Fire Department arrived, they saw smoke coming from a large garage door at approximately 5:15 p.m. at the plant in the city s industrial park.
Employees said the oven had started on fire. The built-in fire suppression system, along with portable fire extinguishers used by employees, had extinguished most of the fire, Mangin said.

No injuries were reported in either fire and both remain under investigation.

FARGO Firefighters responded to two fires at residential structures in Fargo in the early morning hours of Thursday, July 22, one of which forced a family out of its home.
Crews responded to the first report of a fire around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. A row of garages in an apartment complex at 1431 Oak Manor Ave. S. caught fire, damaging several garage units and vehicles before firefighters could get it under control.
Teen who walked into Red River in south Fargo found safe
Police did not not say whether Collins was found in the river, but Fargo Fire Department Battalion Chief Jason Ness said about 9 p.m. as they were cleaning up their equipment that they didn t find anybody in the water.
