RAMALLAH, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) A senior Palestinian official said on Thursday that the Palestinian legislative elections might take place in the Palestinian territories on May 22.
Azzam el-Ahmad, a member of the central committee of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas s Fatah Movement, told Voice of Palestine that the presidential elections will be held two months after the legislative elections.
He added that Abbas is scheduled to meet with the Palestinian Central Elections Commission representatives on Jan. 20 to declare dates for holding the legislative, presidential, and national council elections. Enditem
