He was removed from his car and taken to Palmerston North Hospital in a serious condition. Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thompson said the woman who was in the hijacked car handled herself well and Victim Support was helping her, but repercussions were ongoing. Her vehicle was damaged beyond repair and not insured, he said.

Initially they said they were fine, but then they turned around and realised how far out they’d been blown.” McKenzie has noticed an increase in people taking pool toys to Foxton Beach in recent summers, but it had also become a national issue. “Typically it’s kids who are on the inflatables while their parents are back on the beach. “The parents think the kids are fine because they’re in shallow water, but then the wind changes direction and suddenly they’re 100m off the shore.”

We had money for everything Covid. We could create jobs, we could extend immigration and we could afford to fill the car with petrol.
We could get to the South Island on a budget never before seen, Queenstown actually valued the Kiwi visitor.
Many ivory castles were destroyed by Covid. Where there was a bureaucratic minefield of rules and regulation, somehow, they were excused in 2020.

Bobby s sits on the wharf overlooking the sea, providing a brilliant backdrop to munch down on the freshest fish in town. The batter is crispy and chips crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.
That concept involves rebuilding the existing building, with the current pools kept indoors. A leisure pool and outdoor splash pad would be added, and the pool would be open all year round. One survey respondent, who was not named, said: “This seems the best option for forward thinking. Interest in the area is high and whilst there is a perception that this is a holiday destination there are more and more people moving here who would regularly use the facilities.” Another said: “The pools in Foxton are vital for the local school children who learn to swim, also for elderly and disabled people using it for rehabilitation along with recreational usage.
