Education Ministry signs MoU to digitise ICT schools National May 25, 2021 Islamabad: The Federal Directorate of Education on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding with Tech Valley, the country partner of Google for Education, to digitise all government schools in Islamabad with officials calling the initiative to be in line with the prime minister’s vision of ‘Digital Pakistan’. Federal education and professional training secretary Farah Hamid Khan and Tech Valley chief executive officer Umar Farooq signed the MoU documents during a ceremony in the ministry. The project is expected to be completed in one year. In the first phase, Tech Valley will deploy cloud-based Google Workspace in Islamabad’s 200 schools both boys and girls, while Google will provide schools with tools for distance learning as well as Chromebooks.

US Charge d Affairs meets Shafqat Mahmood

- ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The US Charge d’ Affairs in Pakistan Angela Aggeler met the Federal Minister for Education, Professional Training, National Heritage and Culture Shafqat Mahmood in Islamabad on Monday. The two sides discussed the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Educational Sector, universities partnership programs, the role of technology in education, the Single National Curriculum, and collaboration on technical and skill areas. Shafqat Mahmood said that the relationships of Pakistan and the United States in the Education Sector are the best in the world and people of both Countries are learning from each other. The two sides expressed the desire to deepen ties through consistent engagements in areas of education and culture.
