Messenger KUWAIT CITY, May 2: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs decided to hold Qiyaam prayers in mosques ‘for men only’ during the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan this year, just for 30 minutes. The decision issued by the Assistant Undersecretary for the Mosques Sector, Muhammad Al-Mutairi, stated that “the issue of holding the Qiyaam prayer is in line with the requirements of the health authorities in public interest requires, and hence it has been decided to allow performing the Qiyaam prayer for men and to reduce the duration of the prayer as much as possible which the Fatwa Authority limits of 30 minutes, while adhering to the health requirements currently in force in mosques.
