The national medical council officially made its debut at a ceremony in Hanoi on January 15.
The national medical council officially made its debut at a ceremony in Hanoi on January 15, which has been regarded as a milestone of the domestic health care sector.
The council was formed in line with the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 956/QD-TTg, with the aim of assisting the Government leader in preparing necessary conditions for organising capacity assessment in medical profession.
The establishment of the council is in accordance with international commitments on medical capacity standards and matches Vietnam’s situation, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said, urging the council to soon put forth its operation regulations as well as mechanisms for the organisation of medical licensing examinations.

Nice weather anticipated over Christmas, New Year
All three regions of Vietnam are forecast to enjoy nice weather, perfect for entertainment activities during Christmas, while spells of rain and sunshine are expected in the south, with extreme cold set to hit the north over the New Year.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, temperatures between Dec. 23 and Dec. 25 in the northern region are expected to fluctuate between 13 and 16 degrees Celsius.
Most notably, the lowest temperatures are predicted to hit northern mountainous regions, ranging between 7 and 12. The highest temperatures in northern localities such as Lai Chau, Dien Bien, and Son La will hover around between 18 and 25.

Friendship insignia awarded to outgoing Chilean Ambassador

NDO - Outgoing Chilean Ambassador Jaime Chomali has been awarded the “For Peace and Friendship among Nations” insignia in recognition of his contributions to promoting cooperation between Chile and Vietnam.
The honour was presented to the Chilean diplomat by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisation (VUFO) at a ceremony on December 16.
VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga praised the Ambassador as a man who actively took part in people-to-people friendship activities organised by the union as well as the Vietnam-Chile Friendship and Cooperation Association.
She thanked Ambassador Jaime Chomali for his contributions in strengthening the solidarity, friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two countries, and expressed her belief that he will continue supporting Vietnam and fostering bilateral ties in the future.
