Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Health, National
Gerontology Center, Capital City Health Department, WHO Representative Office
in Mongolia, and Mongolian Red Cross Society are collaborating to involve rural
citizens, who are stranded in the capital city, and elderly people aged 60
years and older with chronic diseases and who are in home care in the vaccination
against COVID-19.
Today, a permanent vaccination site has been opened in each
district to get the target group of citizens inoculated. Specifically,
vaccination is being conducted at School No. 113 in Bayanzurkh district, School
No. 20 in Bayangol district, Health Center of Baganuur district, ‘Avragch’
The government of Mongolia has put the country under strict lockdown for 15 days between April 10 and April 25 with a view to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
The World Vision Mongolia in partnership with the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry is implementing “Disaster Resilient Communities” project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to strengthen the livelihoods and resilience of communities through systematic efforts reducing the community’s exposure to shocks linked to disasters in Ulaanbaatar city and six other provinces.

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On April 6, Minister of Health S.Enkhbold and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba Raul Delgado Concepcion signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health of Mongolia and the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba.
Under the MoU, the sides will cooperate in efforts to support health, communicable and non-communicable disease control and prevention, medical, pharmaceutical and biotechnological research, and primary health care.
During the signing ceremony, Minister S.Enkhbold said the development and achievements of health care and medical sciences in Cuba are well known to the people of Mongolia and that health professionals who studied in dentistry in Cuba have been leading in their field. The Minister also outlined the actions the government of Mongolia is taking against the COVID-19 pandemic.
