Divide hurting most . There is a divide within generations. Overi million pensioners in poverty, if you are 16 years old, minimum wage of £4 an hour, if youre older, maybe £7 an hour work, the question we fundamentally have to ask, who is the economy for, there is enough money to not have this generational divide at all. Where do you see the divide hurting most . There is a divide, but i would say, a lot of the issues that are important to young people are important to old people as well. We advocate an approach that gives care to those people that have paid in over the years, as they look back on it, and as they look back on an adulthood that has been one of relative prosperity and giving hope at the same time to a generation that for the first time in many generations is without hope. We need to make sure people are properly trained, people from those communities themselves, peer to peer challenging of those ideologies but we havent even begun to do any of that yet, what we have done instead is cut Youth Services, cut Probation Services and social services, those are the kind of services in a strong position to challenge those beliefs. The third thing i would do is invest properly in Public Services. Its the Emergency Services who run into situations of danger when everyone else is running away. There have been cuts to the police, to the health services, and in addition to the Youth Services and social services ive already said. People today understandably are all paying tribute to our Emergency Services and Public Sector workers and i would join in those tributes, but the real way that we can show that we value those people is to make sure that theyve got the resources they need to do theirjobs, whatever thatis, they need to do theirj
