Donors are urged to step up as blood stocks are critically low countrywide
BLOOD stocks are critically low countrywide, with the national blood service having reported only 3.3 days’ supply on hand ahead of the Easter long weekend last week.
The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is calling on all new and existing donors to visit their nearest blood centre to donate and boost stocks to the required five-day supply.
One blood donation can save up to three lives.
SANBS has also launched the #NoStereotypes campaign to highlight the role everyone can play in saving lives, no matter their status, culture or race.
