INTEGRA's VOYAGER adjustable tip spacing pipettes streamline the production of venom-based screening assays

INTEGRA’s VOYAGER adjustable tip spacing pipettes streamline the production of venom-based screening assays Venomtech® – a leading UK-based biotechnology company founded in 2010 – is harnessing the power of natural venoms produced by animals to generate compound libraries that are used in drug discovery studies. With a collection of nearly 200 species, from spiders to scorpions and even centipedes to study, the team at Venomtech is using INTEGRA’s VOYAGER adjustable tip spacing pipette to increase efficiency in the production of venom-based screening assays. Steve Trim, CSO of Venomtech, explained: “Each species has a unique venom containing several hundred different components. The library of compounds available to us using venom is therefore enormous – and we are only just scratching the surface, with the compounds derived from these venoms not just driving the discovery of pain-relief and oncology drugs, but also being used in the development of antimicrobials, inse

A better qPCR pipetting experience with VIAFLO electronic pipettes

A better qPCR pipetting experience with VIAFLO electronic pipettes INTEGRA Biosciences’ VIAFLO electronic pipettes are making qPCR plate preparation the straightforward process it should be for researchers in the Saint-Geniez lab at Harvard Medical School. Image Credit: INTEGRA Biosciences Preparation of qPCR plates is a repetitive, time-consuming task when done manually, and having the right pipettes makes all the difference. Postdoctoral researcher Daisy Shu explained: “After graduating in optometry, I moved into research, studying cataracts – clouding of the lens – for my PhD at the University of Sydney before taking up my present position in Boston, where I’m working on age-related macular degeneration.”

INTEGRA's electronic pipettes eliminate user fatigue and improve pipetting productivity

INTEGRA’s electronic pipettes eliminate user fatigue and improve pipetting productivity CDI Labs – a biotechnology company based in Puerto Rico – is using INTEGRA’s VIAFLO and VOYAGER electronic pipettes to streamline workflows and improve accuracy for the development of next generation proteomics products. Image Credit: INTEGRA Biosciences The company is well-known for its flagship product – the HuProt™ Human Proteome Microarray – and has since expanded its portfolio to include a catalogue of over 2,000 monoclonal antibodies designed to accelerate research and advance discoveries that improve human health. Edisa Albino, a senior project manager and operations development scientist at CDI, explained: “Monoclonal antibodies are frequently used in life sciences research, yet many of the molecules currently available commercially aren’t very specific. Each of our monoclonal antibodies is monospecific, and has been extensively validated using flow cytometry, characte

Mar 06 2021 Read 2003 Times Integra Biosciences AG has released its 2020 annual report, with sales rising 73% compared to the previous year for this manufacturer of laboratory equipment and pipettes. This is the tenth straight year of sales growth for this hidden champion from the Chur Rhine Valley. Reporting sales of CHF130 in 2020, it has been the best year ever for Integra Biosciences AG. The 73% increase from 2019 was driven by huge demand worldwide for the laboratory instruments it develops and manufactures in Zizers. The company saw particular growth in the sales of pipettes and pipette tips that are being used in diagnostics and research to combat COVID-19. “We are pleased with this excellent performance, and proud of our work contributing towards overcoming the pandemic,” said Urs Hartmann, who has led Integra Biosciences as its CEO since January 2020.
