DIMAPUR The GPRN/NSCN (Unification), under the leadership of Gen. (Retd.) MB Neokpao Konyak and N Kitovi Zhimomi, on Thursday, clarified that it has not signed any “merger agreement” with Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) led by Chairman S Kamson. However, it said the alliance between the two is to “protect and safeguard” common Naga political, historical rights and identity. “The alliance between GPRN/NSCN and ZUF was signed in New Delhi on October 28, 2019. The negotiations between GoI and WC-NNPG had traversed much depths and heights on all crucial matters and on the table was a workable, acceptable and honorable solution for all Nagas. “ZUF too had closely followed the Indo-Naga talks and the political situation and environment favoured an alliance with GPRN/NSCN. As per the understanding, ZUF Chairman would be a part of Naga delegation on political negotiations to air the problems of Zeliangrong people living in Nagaland, Assam and Manipur,” read the statement.
