New turn. This morning, a major shift in the search for wreckage. Australia moving their focus just over 680 miles northeast. Australian authorities describing it as new and credible information. It indicates the plane was traveling faster than was previousliest mated resulting in increased fuel usage and reducing the possible distance it traveled south. Reporter this moves the search hundreds of miles closer to australias coast, giving the planes more than the previous one to two hours of search time. The new search area remains considerable and the search conditions although easier than before, remain challenging. Reporter the new search area covering 123,000 square miles. The waters there reaching depths of about 2 1 2 miles. It needs to be continuely adjusted. And the likely drift of any wreckage floating on the ocean surface. This past week of all the man hours, all the flight hours and efforts to find all of those satellite images to get the eyes on all of those satellite images, now theyre essentially saying theyre not calling the images debris anymore. That is where theyre at. Theyre essentially in so many words back to square one, and cnn aviation correspondent, former Transportation Department inspector.
