Two sisters, members of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations in the Yukon, created a pocket-size dictionary of Southern Tutchone words to help preserve the Indigenous language.
Stacey McDiarmid says she's constantly having to meet with Yukon education officials to advocate for her children, who have autism, to ensure they have their educational needs met. Her son has missed more than 200 days of school in the past three years because he needs one-on-one care.
