Wrexham Council issue heartfelt thank you to residents who helped during recent floods

Rae Pritchard with the leader of Wrexham Council, cllr Mark Pritchard. WREXHAM Council has issued a heartfelt thank you to those who helped during the recent flooding. When last week’s floods hit the County Borough, the council, emergency services and other partners responded but there were also many local residents who played their part too. One of those people who did something kind that helped ensure her community stayed safe during the worst of Storm Christoph was Rae Pritchard, who runs the after-school club at Ysgol Sant Dunawd’s in Bangor-on-Dee. With the River Dee raging at 1am on January 21, Ms Pritchard received a phone call from the council asking if she could open up the school, so it could act as an assembly point for people being evacuated from the village.
