3 injured, 8 displaced after Ypsilanti Township apartment fire

YPSILANTI TWP., MI – Three people were injured in an apartment fire that displaced eight tenants Thursday night in Ypsilanti Township.
Fire crews were called at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, to a multi-residence structure fire at Arbor Circle Apartments, 2277 Grove Road, when heavy flames and smoke were seen coming from one of the complex’s apartment buildings, according to the Ypsilanti Township Fire Department.
Crews arrived at the two-story, eight-unit apartment building to find three apartments and a connecting hallway fully engulfed in flames, officials said.
Several residents were trapped on the second floor of the building outside on their balconies with one resident jumping to safety, suffering a leg and hip injury in the fall, officials said.
