On Sunday night during his address at a St Michael South Barbados Labour Party branch meeting at the Graydon Sealy Secondary School, Minister of Youth Dwight Sutherland said there would come a day when young people would have to lead Barbados and his ministry was committed to ensuring they had the necessary skills to do so.

Minister of Youth Dwight Sutherland, who was speaking today during a presentation of landscaping equipment to Prison Fellowship Barbados, said incarceration had long lasting effects and it was time more programmes were enacted for those who had committed petty crimes. During the presentation at the ministry’s training room, Haggatt Hall, St Michael, executive director of the Prison Fellowship Neil Dowden said the former inmates would be granted Government contracts but also urged the private sector to hire them.
