據生物學著作預印本資料庫平台 bioRxiv 實驗室發布一項中和抗體類別的新研究顯示,紐約大學科學家發現,嬌生的疫苗針對 Delta 變種病毒的抗體水準只有最初新冠肺炎產生抗體水準的五倍低。
美國疾病管制與預防中心主任 Rochelle Walensky 周二在參議院的聽證會上表示, Delta 變種病毒目前已占美國病毒基因定序病例的 83%。紐約大學研究表示,輝瑞、Moderna 這類雙劑量 mRNA 疫苗對 Delta 病毒產生的抗體也減少,不過減少幅度較和緩。
紐約大學研究人員在報告中表示,與兩劑的 mRNA 疫苗相比,單劑嬌生疫苗對變種病毒的抗體更明顯減少,可能會減少該疫苗的保護效力。嬌生表示,該研究只關注保護力的面向,並未考慮受疫苗刺激的免疫細胞長期反應。
