Punjab cabinet strength soars to 44 members
About half of Punjab cabinet members deemed inactive

The size of the Punjab cabinet has reached 44 members, including 37 ministers, three advisers and four special assistants, the swearing in of two new ministers.
Lahore district has the highest representation in the provincial cabinet with five ministers, while Faisalabad is second with four ministers.
However, more than 20 members of the cabinet are on a “watch list” of the prime minister and chief minister for their unsatisfactory performance during the past two and a half years, according to sources. Some of the inactive members of the cabinet are reportedly known in government circles as “sleeping ministers”, the sources said.

Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has decided to induct two new ministers into his cabinet.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Two more ministers will be inducted in the Punjab Cabinet today (Tuesday) after which the strength to the provincial cabinet will become 46, Dunya News reported.
According to sources, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has decided to induct two new ministers into his cabinet. Sources also informed that the portfolios of the new ministers will be allocated after their oath taking.
Syed Yawar Abbas Bukhari and Khayal Ahmad will take oath of their offices today at the Governor House at 1:30 pm. Punjab Governor Ch Mohammad Sarwar will administer oath to the newly-inducted ministers.
