Osian Jones is Ceredigion’s ‘king of the chants’ OSIAN Jones from Aberaeron has been successful in reaching the primary school shortlist in ‘Gwlad y Chants’ – a competition to create a new football chant to support Wales at Euro 2020 organised by Mentrau Iaith and the FAW. ‘Sea Chanty y Wal Goch’ is the name of Osian’s entry and it has been inspired by the recent sea shanty trend on social media. Referring to some of Wales’ stars like Gareth Bale and Daniel James, Osian has masterfully set his own words of inspiration to Nathan Evans’ familiar tune ‘Wellerman’. In order for Osian to bag the great prizes on offer he will need your support in the public vote that will be open until tomorrow (Friday) on Mentrau Iaith social media pages.
