Bar owners thrilled at imminent end of food-with-booze rule
Harvey’s Restaurant and Bar co-owners Matthew Bagley, left, and Adam Humphrey hold $1 snacks they introduced to tweak new state rules requiring food be sold with every initial drink order on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Harvey’s “Cuomo chips,” right, were quickly judged by the state as not substantial enough to meet the then-new food-with-alcohol requirement. (Will Waldron/Times Union)
Local bar owners expressed elation Tuesday when the state Legislature moved toward rescinding Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s 9-month-old rule requiring food be purchased with all initial orders of alcohol.

Kristi Gustafson Barlette catches up with farmer and entrepreneur Matt Baumgartner for her weekly 20 Things Plus.
How did Baumgartner end up sitting on Elton John s piano? What near-paralyzing fear does he have? Which dish is a must try at his new plant-based restaurant, the Troy Beer Garden? And what disease did he recently battle?
The owner of June Farms as well as several area restaurants discusses that and more in this episode of 20 Things Plus.
