Jake Evans scored the empty net goal but took a massive hit from Mark Scheifele, and had to be stretchered off the ice at the end of Game 1 between the Canadiens and Jets.

Montreal Canadiens forward Jake Evans suffered a concussion after Wednesday night’s hit from Mark Scheifele and will miss an undetermined amount of time, head coach Dominique Ducharme said Thursday.
“He’s certainly going to miss time, we’re not sure how much time,” Ducharme said.
Evans is doing better and did not need to be transported to a hospital, but remains under the supervision of two team doctors who attended to him Wednesday night.
