Winter Garden police said around 3:15 p.m. officers responded to the Promenade Apartments on Winter Garden Vineland Road for a wellbeing check.
Investigators said they found 44-year-old Gislaine DeLima Felipe dead. Felipe died following an apparent struggle but her cause of death is pending an autopsy, according to police.

Officers said during the course of the investigation detectives received information that the victim’s estranged husband, Marcelo Felipe, 46, sent messages to friends claiming responsibility for her death.
