THE ten council wards with the highest Covid-19 infection rates are no longer dominated by the Ellesmere Port area, according to the latest figures. The data, available on Cheshire West and Chester Council s dedicated coronavirus information portal, shows that the most spots in the top ten are now taken up by wards in the Winsford area. For the second week running, there are no Chester wards currently in the top ten with Blacon being the highest in 13th. The most up-to-date figures cover the seven-day period from January 28 to February 3.
During the previous week-long stretch (January 21-27), Ellesmere Port had seven council wards in the top ten, but that has now dropped to four.
