This is what it looked like in San Francisco just a few hours ago. Bits of ice collecting on cars. And always beautiful to see the occasional snowstorm here in the bay area. Coming up on the onramp north of there is where the crash blocks all lanes of northbound 17 and this is a problem coming out of the santa cruz mountains. On the maps, kris sanchez is there getting more information and north 17 is fine out of the summit and highway 85 approaching hamilton. That is where the freeway is closed. You have to use baskom or winchester and meridian will take you toward the area and slowing on 280 and more folks skr jumping in. Keep that in mind. And keep your waze on for the closure. We have heard reports of drivers going through the where they are not supposed to. Be aware if you do that you put yourself in danger and Law Enforcement in danger and because the freeway is closed because they are trying to clear the scene. This all happened around 3 15, 3 30 this morning. But, again, one more instance of somebody getting on to the freeway going in the wrong direction. We dont know why. At this point chp telling us they dont believe that alcohol or drugs were a factor. So we dont know, again, where this driver got on in the wrong direction in the first place. We will let you know.
