But a des moines woman who was originally from bosnia hopes her story encourages some elected leaders to reconsider their stance on refugees. Today, the us house ssed a bill that requires new background checks for any syrian and iraqi refugee who applies to come to this country the vote came after last fridays terrorist aatacks in paris that killed 129 people and injured hundreds more. French authorities believe one of the attackers` entered that country illegally from syria by posing as a refugee.
