They say don t judge a book by its cover. and you probably shouldn t judge a fierce raptor, like the American Bald Eagle by its war cry either.
There s no visual quite as majestic as watching our nation s symbol come swooping down. However have you ever heard one? You probably wouldn t identify the sound you hear with what you see. It s not as annoying as say Bobcat Goldthwaite or Gilbert Gottfried, but the mighty eagle does sound more like Tweety Bird than the war cry heard in by the birds from The Lord of the Rings movies.
Apparently humans and the Bald Eagle share a common trait. As we get older our hair changes color. Who knew?

Photographer Captures Rare Arctic Snowy Owl in Central New York
Santa isn t our only visitor during New York s winter months. Our wildlife photographer, William Straite captured some great photos of the rare Arctic Snowy Owl.
Most of us have never seen one and probably had never even heard of the Snowy Owl before the Harry Potter movie franchise. Harry received the owl named Hedwig for his 11th birthday.
William from Prospect, NY, is retired and spends his time travelling the state searching for wildlife to photograph in their natural habitat. He put in hundreds of hours and covered thousands of miles in search of the rare owl before hitting the jackpot.
