Gardaí release woman arrested over murder of Co. Meath couple

LMFM By Marc O Driscoll Willie Maughan and Ana Varslavane went missing from Laytown over five years ago. A woman arrested in connection with the murder of a couple from Co. Meath has been released without charge. The woman in her mid-30s was taken into custody yesterday morning in relation to the disappearance of William Maughan and his partner Anastasija Varslavanne. The couple lived in Gormanston until they went missing in April 2015. The remains of the couple - who were expecting their first child at the time of their disappearance - have never been found. Gardaí say a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions and investigations are ongoing.

Woman arrested in missing couple murder inquiry Updated / Saturday, 30 Jan 2021 15:24 William Maughan and Anastasija Varslavane were reported missing in 2015 A woman has been arrested as part of the investigation into the disappearance and murder of a couple almost six years ago.  William Maughan and Anastasija Varslavane - who was originally from Latvia - were reported missing from Laytown, Co Meath in April 2015.  A woman in her 30s was arrested this morning, and is being held at Ashbourne Garda Station.  Gardaí say that investigations are ongoing.  More stories on
