According to the Insurance Institute for home safety, were just a couple of degrees from the temperature alert threshold. They say at 20 degrees or below, pipes are vulnerable to freeze but it can still happen at these temperatures. The best way to tell if you have a frozen pipe is if you turn on a faucet, and only a trickle comes out. Pipes running against exterior walls or where your water enters the home through the foundation are most likely to freeze. Keeping your faucet open, applying a heated pad or hair dryer to a frozen pipe and applying heat until full water pressure is restored can help.
