The city of Jacksonville is converting two COVID-19 testing sites to vaccination sites.
At a virtual news conference Jan. 7, Mayor Lenny Curry said that beginning Jan. 11, the Lane Wiley Senior Center and the Mandarin Senior Center will provide COVID-19 vaccinations for people 65 and older, frontline medical workers and first responders. Testing no longer will be available at the locations.
The Lane Wiley Senior Center is at 6710 Wiley Road in West Jacksonville. The Mandarin Senior Center is at 3848 Hartley Road.
Both centers will close at 5 p.m. Jan. 7 for the conversion.
Hours of operation and the process to receive the vaccination will be announced Jan. 8, Curry said.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Two COVID-19 testing centers in Jacksonville will close Thursday night in order to make necessary preparations to transition them into vaccination-only sites starting next week.
Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry gave details about the transition in a news conference Thursday afternoon.
Curry said that the Lane Wiley Senior Center located at 6710 Wiley Road and the Mandarin Senior Center located at 3848 Hartley Road will be transitioned from testing centers into vaccination sites. Both facilities will close for regular COVID-19 testing starting at 5 p.m. Thursday and reopen Monday for vaccinations.
