In this weekâs Player Blog presented by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Garrick Higgo reflects on amateur golf, a fast start to his professional career and having a long-time supporter in Gary Player
I started playing golf when I was about three years old. I would just go out with my dad when he played, and Iâm not sure why, but when I started playing it was with plastic golf clubs and I just naturally went to play left-handed. Iâve done it ever since â even though Iâm actually right-handed. I also kick and throw left-handed but play tennis right-handed, so Iâm not sure why that is, but itâs interesting that itâs true for a couple of other guys out on Tour like Phil Mickelson.

In this weekâs Player Blog presented by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Brandon Stone discusses the importance of being able to adapt, how the past year has changed his relationships for the better, and convincing his caddie out of retirement.
You always want to get the year off to a good start, so I was delighted with my result in Dubai last week. From my entire professional career on the European Tour we have always started in the Middle East so the emphasis on starting the year well has always been there. Both Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Emirates have been golf courses Iâve enjoyed in the past, and Iâve enjoyed the atmosphere and prestige of the events and strength of fields. In Abu Dhabi I played quite consistently and then fell off the boil in the first few holes of the second round and I wasnât able to claw it back, so I ended up missing the cut.
