DELMARVA- Delmarva Power has announced it is dividing $85,000 dollars between University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Delaware State University to support students impacted by COVID-19.
The President of Delmarva Power said for the past 26 years the company has collected donations from businesses and organizations through its annual charity golf tournament to support educational organizations.
This year they weren’t able to hold that tournament, but they said vendors that would typically take part in the event still donated in order to help students that are struggling.
“I think what we’ve seen in the past year is the community needs us more than ever,” Gary Stockbridge, the President of Delmarva Power, said. “We’ve been trying to step up across the board, recognizing that our community based organizations that are out there helping people are in more need than ever.”

December 16, 2020
Most notably, they’re going to be eliminating spring break.
On top of that change, they’re also going to be delaying the start of the spring semester by one week.
They hope that delay will give students more time to see if they want to register for classes.
President of Wor-Wic, Dr. Hoy, adds that when it comes to classes things will be the same.
They will continue to offer hybrid, online, and in -person learning.
We are told although this is their plan things could change at any moment.
