The DeKalb County School Board voted to hire superintendent finalist Dr. Devon Horton during a specially called meeting on Wednesday, April 19. The board is still negotiating Horton's contract.
The DeKalb County Board of Education is an institution in dire need of reform, which can only happen when the county's political and business leaders demand it.
The DeKalb County School Board met on March 13 and voted to approve an $8 million contract with Evolv Weapons Detection for metal detectors at high schools and middle schools across the district.
