CONWAY â Abutters of the proposed four-story Viewpoint Hotel in Intervale have filed a nuisance complaint with the Conway Planning Board.
Attorney Roy W. Tillsley Jr. of the Bernstein Shur Law Firm of Manchester at the board s Feb. 25 meeting presented a noise complaint filed by 16 people, including five residents of Dinsmore Road; five direct abutters at Mountain View Estates; two residents each from Neighbors Row and Balcony Seat View; and a resident each of Intervale Crossroads and Northbrook Condominiums.
The direct abutters include Mountain View board president Mike Sprecht, board members Nancy Goyette and Jenny LaBudde, and residents Stephanie Madden and Frank Masciulli.
Chris DeVries, 38, may go to trial in August or September.
On June 21, DeVries organized a North Conway protest he called âSkate Away the Hate,â which involved people riding bicycles and skateboards down White Mountain Highway from Schouler Park to Depot Road and back.
At the protest, DeVries spoke through a bullhorn and listed demands that he said came from local chapters of Black Lives Matter.
âIf we divest funds from police and prison systems, we all benefit,â said DeVries. âThose funds can go to local communities and social services.â
The following month, DeVries was charged with six counts of possessing child sexual abuse images, one count of possession of hallucinogenic psilocybin mushrooms and one count of falsifying physical evidence.
