County coroner appearing before the judge and explaining the accusations against this well respected Law Enforcement officer. Reporter the colleagues at the Marin County Sheriffs Office are in shock and is family in disbelief as the head of the marin county Coroners Office is facing charges of sexually abusing an underage girl. Reporter do you have anything to say about the charges . Reporter the relatives had nothing to say as they left the courtroom after watching the chief deputy corner Darrell Harris go before the judge for the first time and cameras were not allowed inside the courtroom. Harris did not enter a plea to charges which include continual sexual abuse of a girl under 14, lewd acts with a minor and sexual battery. His Attorney Says that he denies the accusations. Mr. Harriss family does not believe it is true, his wife and son are here today, his colleagues do not believe it, his neighbors and his friends do not believe it is true. You can see officers, these are Police Officers but also the county is sheriff and chp out. They are armed with automatic weapons and again they have closed down both both sides of the 17 freeway. I have gotten a message from the superintendent of schools for los gatos. She said im trying to read this here quickly. That to the best of their knowledge they were contacted by authorities and that they were told there was an officer involved shooting they put the school on lockdown. The Santa Clara County sheriff said just isnt ten they got a call from a woman who said a man broke into her home. He stole her van before dumping it. Investigators believe that intruder is the same man who robbed a bank at 10 00 yesterday morning. He then sped off in a White Chrysler on highway 17 after robbing that bank
