Colleyville’s beautification project along State Highway 26 has hit a detour.
The second phase, $38-million reconstruction project from John McCain Road to Brown Trail began in 2016 and was nearly completed last fall.
The project hit a snag in April when City Council received an $11 million bid that far exceeded its $6 million budget for the tower-like stone gateways meant to greet drivers at Main Street and John McCain along the highway.
