WELLSVILLE Plans for the Town of Wellsville’s future home on West Hanover Street have been delayed, but not dashed.
Town Supervisor Shad Alsworth announced this week that Alfred State College has reaffirmed its commitment to the project, which calls for Alfred State students to erect the building for the town.
Alsworth said Jeffrey Stevens, dean of the Wellsville campus, met with department heads and curriculum coordinators before recommitting to the project, which was scrapped by COVID-19 in 2020.

WELLSVILLE The Town of Wellsville is moving forward with plans for its new home on West Hanover Street.
The town will be accepting bids to auger 55 holes for the new town building. A representative from the town’s engineering firm, Clark Patterson Lee, attended the December meeting of the town council and presented an update on the process.
The load bearing soil depths range from 8-14 feet, with 17 holes at 10 feet or deeper. The town’s engineer, Tom Swift, said at some point soon the town will need to finalize the layout of the town office area as design plans for the gas and electric systems can’t go any further until it is in place.
