West Burlington, IA- The West Burlington Police Department is asking for help from the public in identifying a suspect in a gas station drive-off. The Hawk Eye reports that the theft occurred at about 11:46 AM Friday, June 2nd, at the Highway 34 Truckstop, 4305 West Mount Pleasant Street, in West Burlington. West Burlington, IA- The West Burlington Police Department has announced the arrest of a man on multiple charges. According to a news release, at about 4:52 AM Monday, June 5th West Burlington Police Officers responded to 1223 W. Mt. Pleasant St. for a report of a burglary. It was found that thousands of dollars of items had been stolen from the residence. Detectives were called to the scene to assist in the investigation. (photo: West Burlington Police Department) Through investigation means, West Burlington Police traveled to 619 Hedge Avenue, where they discovered a man, later identified as Leo Edwards Jennings (above), unloading stolen items out of a vehicle from the burglary. An officer and detective attempted to detain Jennings which led to a struggle. Jennings was taken into custody, and the officer and detective sustained minor injuries during the struggle. Jennings was arrested for Interference with Official Acts causing Bodily Injury, Theft 2nd Degree, Possession of a Control

West Burlington, IA- The West Burlington Police Department is investigating recent armed robbery and burglary incidents at two local cell phone stores. According to a news release, on Saturday, May 6th at about 9:11 PM, the West Burlington Police Department responded to Cricket Wireless, 411 West Agency Road Suite 3, for a report of a burglar alarm. Officers found the store had been burglarized and several cell phones and money had been taken. Then, about 6:10 PM Monday, May 8th, West Burlington Police responded to the Verizon Wireless store at 166 West Agency Road Suite 7, for a report of an armed robbery. The suspect brandished a firearm and stole several phones before exiting the store. These incidents are being investigated by the West Burlington Police Department.
