The deep depression will continue to move north-northeastwards at a speed of 17 kmph and is expected to make landfall between Khepupara and Mongla in Bangladesh on Saturday morning, the IMD said.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that a depression over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a deep depression. The depression is projected to move towards the coasts of Bangladesh and West Bengal, bringing light to moderate rainfall in the coastal districts of Odisha and West Bengal. Squally winds with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph, gusting to 60 kmph are also expected in the affected areas. Fishermen are advised to avoid venturing into the Bay of Bengal until the weather conditions improve.
