Elgin formally accepted a $1.27 million Supporting Municipalities for Asylum-Seekers grant from the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus and the Illinois Department of Human Services. The money will be passed on to three partner agencies Centro de Información, Food for Greater Elgin and Well Child Center.
